A delegation of five Members of the Public Service Commission of Gambia headed by Mrs. Awa Jow Auber the Vice Chairperson of the Commission paid a visit to the National Public Service Commission on 08^th October 2018.  The purpose of this visit is to learn from Rwanda best practices in the Public Service Management, from recruitment, promotion, resignation and retirement procedures.

Members of the Public Service Commission of the Gambia was hosted by The Executive Secretary Madam Angelina MUGANZA who briefed them on background of National Public Service Commission, duties and responsibilities and how NPSC works with other government Institutions.   

After the introduction, a detailed presentation of the National Public Service Commission was provided by Ms. Viviane Gakire Kabeho, the Advisor to the Executive Secretary, she highlighted that Rwanda leadership vision chose in 2000 through Vision 2020 to drive its nation/ citizens towards a knowledgeable based economy and ensure a capable state. In order to enable this Rwanda embraced the uses of new technology in Human resource management in order to provide an efficient service to its clients therefore guarantee transparency and fairness in Human resource management in the Public Service. She pointed out the use the E-recruitment system, Result based management among others through IPPIS (Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System).

 After a fruitful discussion, the delegation assured that once back home, they will be able to customize lesson learnt from NPSC to their systems.

The delegation is in Rwanda up to 14 October 2018 where they will visit other Government Institutions such as MIFOTRA, MINECOFIN, RMI, RGB, RSSB and City of Kigali, for further information.
